First shots! Karl Lagerfeld shooting the new Chanel a/w 2010 Campaign.
Karl Lagerfeld is strutting the streets of New York with his favorites: models, his camera and Chanel fashion. He is shooting the new Chanel a/w 2010 campaign.
The designer stepped into an cherry picker and braved towering heights while his models posed on the fire escape. No Claudia Schiffer this time, the models in this shoot are Freja Beha Erichsen and Abbey Lee Kershaw.

Karl Lagerfeld talks Fur and Burka’s

Karl Lagerfeld is such a hero. He’s a creative genius in fashion, film and photography. Besides that, I love his quotes.
Vice Magazine interviewed Karl in Paris. Here are some legendary quotes:
On his statement black shades: “They’re my burka”
‘A burka for a man. I’m a little shortsighted, and people, when they’re shortsighted, they remove their glasses and then they look like cute little dogs who want to be adopted.’
About his youth: “I was a beach boy in my youth.”
On his creative talents: “The three things I like best in life are fashion, photography, and books. There are a lot of other things I may like but that I’m not gifted for. I’m not gifted for music. I’m not gifted for singing. I don’t like to act because my life is a pantomime anyway.”
On fur: “If you cannot afford it, just forget about it. Don’t use it as an investment piece to show people how rich you are. Use it like a cheap knitted thing.”
On keeping in touch with Anna Wintour: “We speak via fax.”
On Technology: “Well, I hate telephones. I prefer faxes because I like to write.”

Take me to the magic of the moment,
On a glory night,
Where the children of tomorrow dream away,
In the wind of change.
