Hurray, it’s almost Amsterdam International Fashion Week! This wednesday fashionfolks will dominate the streets in Amsterdam. Shows by Bas Kosters, Jan Taminiau, Spijkers&Spijkers, Monique Collignon and more and fashion party’s everywhere.

There’s one party in particular that I love, it’s the Anti Fashion Party, organized by designer Bas Kosters and my favourite dj, miss Wannabeastar. It’s been held almost at the end of Fashion Week, so that when your feet can’t handle anymore heels, your hair can’t handle the hairproducts and your out of fabulous outfits: here’s the party where you can wear anything you like as long as it is ANTI fashion.

Dresscode this edition is Bananes and Meatballs. That’s right, we’re raising the roof untill we can’t dance no more.

Be there:
Saturday 29th of January 2011
Westerliefde (around Westergasfabriek), Amsterdam
Costs 9,99.

During Amsterdam International Fashion Week there was a collection that caught my eye especially: Mada van Gaans. Her autumn winter ‘10/’11 collection is called The Serpent Goddess and is inspired by a snake goddess from Crete. Lots of snakeprints, woven in to the fabric and dark colours. One outfit was completely bubblegum pink, which gave the whole collection its freshness.

All in all a very feminine, sophisticated collection by Dutch designer Mada van Gaans.

Fashion Report: Bibi van der Velden Autumn/Winter 2010 at AIFW.
The work of Bibi van der Velden was as always very extraordinaire. Bubbles of glass, silver arms as a necklace, giant balls and very futuristic designs. The models wore skincolour underwear with the jewellery. Most special item: one model was covered in little diamants (I allready saw it backstage, they were busy with just the little diamants for at least a couple of hours). The models all walked through a tunnel of blue light that gave the whole thing a little extra futuristic touch.

Fashion report: Replay’s a/w 2010 show at AIFW.
On the catwalk of the Replay Autumn/Winter 2010 show at Amsterdam International Fashion Week there was a lot of leather, denim and knitwear. Grunge meets modern life. Supermodel Ana Beatriz Barros opened and closed the show and also Bregje Heinen was modelling for the Replay show. I loved the leather bikerboots and the flowerpatterns that came by.

More pictures by Peter Stigter on their website.

The two shows that closed Amsterdam International Fashion Week were Replay and Bibi van der Velden. I got the chance for ELLE TV to have a little chat with the designer of Replay: Gigi Vezzola and the model that opened the show: Ana Beatriz Barros.
